Spring Semester

 
We have awesome studies available on Wednesday nights beginning at 6:15pm in the XChange for every age group 6th - 12th grade.  These groups are designed for intense theological training.  Our desire at Pickens First Baptist Church is that students will be equipped to share the good news of Jesus Christ locally and around the world.  If you are interested in coming to visit with us, this will be a great time to get plugged in!  We also have some great volunteers who love you students so come and check us out!

 

Grades 6-8

WHAT DO YOU BELIEVE?  with Brian Garrett and Amy Hinkle
I mean really, what is it that shapes the way you see the world?  Is it your family, your friends, what your church says is important?  What is it that informs your decisions?  A worldview does that for us.  As a matter of fact, our worldview determines what we believe about God, the Bible, life's purpose...everything we see is interpreted through the lense of our worldview.  It is extremely important that students know the essentials to creating and sustaining a solid Biblical worldview.  In this class, students will be challenged to think deeply on this topic of worldview and be encouraged to see things from a Biblical worldview.

 

 

Grades 9-11

THE DOCTRINE OF CHRIST with Josh Sargent                                      
One of the most important doctrines of the Christian faith.  Who in the world was Jesus?  Who is Jesus?  Was he just a man who was crazy or was he really God in the flesh who came to save his people?  Students will be engaged in thought provoking study of the person of Jesus the Christ and how he relates to God the Father and God the Holy Spirit, as well as the implications of the truth that He was the Son of God, the Messiah.   
                          THE DOCTRINE OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

So is this really the hardest doctrine to study and understand?  How does the Holy Spirit work?  What does He do in the lives of believers?  There really is much that has been written and said regarding this person of the trinity and much confusion has arisen regarding this "abstract" being.  Come and learn how the Holy Spirit works and wants to use you in the lives of others. 
THE STORY with Patrick Stalnaker                               
Do you ever wonder why you're here?  What is so wrong with this world we live in?  Where am I going in life?  This course will equip students of all ages with a firm grasp on how to answer those questions.  It is called The Story because this unique tool concisely conveys the whole story of the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.  Students will see how the Old and New Testaments fit together to show God making and keeping the promise to restore our world.  Ultimately you will see the Mission of God as revealed in Scripture from Genesis to Revelation.
