Fall 2025 Student Ministry Preview

Sunday Night Kickoff – August 3 | 6:00–7:00 PM
We’re launching the new school year with a celebration students won’t want to miss! Join us on Sunday night, August 3, as we officially kick off a new season of PFBC Student Ministry.
This night is especially important as we take time to welcome our rising 6th grade students into the youth group. Transitioning into student ministry is a big step, and we want to make it exciting, memorable, and meaningful for both students and their families.
Here’s what to expect:
-
We’ll fire up the grill for hamburgers and all the fixings.
-
We’ll share a brief devotional lesson to set the tone for our fall semester.
-
And to top it all off, we’ll have an epic water balloon fight - so be sure to bring a towel and wear clothes you don’t mind getting wet!
This kickoff night is all about connection: welcoming new students, reconnecting with familiar faces, and building excitement for what’s ahead. It’s the perfect opportunity to bring a friend, meet your small group leaders, and start the semester off with energy and purpose.
We’re looking forward to a great fall, and August 3 is just the beginning. Come ready to eat, laugh, learn, and get soaked!

Wednesday Nights at the Xchange: Meet the Messiah (Beginning August 6 | 6:30-7:30 PM)
This fall at the Xchange, we’re launching a new Wednesday night series titled Meet the Messiah, a chapter-by-chapter journey through the Gospel of John.
Each week, students will open God’s Word and see Jesus revealed in powerful, personal ways - not just as a miracle worker or wise teacher, but as the Son of God who came to bring life. From the very first pages, John makes it clear: Jesus is the Messiah, and belief in Him changes everything.
As John himself wrote, “These things are written so that you may believe that Jesus is the Messiah, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in His name” (John 20:31).
Colton Ashley will be teaching each week, guiding students through key moments in Jesus' ministry - His signs, His conversations, His compassion, and ultimately, His sacrifice. Every chapter will point students to the truth of who Jesus is and why that matters in their daily lives.

Here’s what students can expect on Wednesday nights:
-
Doors open at 6:00 PM for pizza and hangout time.
-
Youth begins at 6:30 PM with games, announcements, and a live teaching straight from Scripture.
-
Each message will explore a new chapter from John, followed by interactive conversation and response timedesigned to help students process what they’ve heard.
Meet the Messiah is more than a sermon series - it’s an invitation to encounter Jesus personally and grow in a deeper relationship with Him.
We’re praying that this series helps our students know Christ more clearly, follow Him more closely, and stand more confidently in their faith.

Weekly Sunday Night Small Groups Begin August 10 | 6:00–7:00 PM
Sunday nights this fall are all about discipleship and deeper connection through intentional small groups. Students will break into age- and gender-appropriate groups to focus on one of two tracks: Authentic Love or Bible Basecamp.
Authentic Love: Christ, Culture, and the Pursuit of Purity
For all 7th–12th grade students, divided into guys and girls groups
In a culture that encourages everyone to define truth and identity for themselves, Authentic Love calls students to something higher—a life of personal holiness and gospel-centered purity. This 8-week study is tailored for teens navigating real questions about love, identity, and relationships.
Girls Group
This study helps girls recognize and reject culture’s lies about love and purity while embracing what it means to be a godly young woman who reflects the character of Christ. Themes include: identity, forgiveness, love, humility, self-sacrifice, and endurance. View the Girls Study
Guys Group
This study challenges guys to reject self-centered cultural messages and pursue a life of Christlike character and integrity. Themes include: identity, forgiveness, love, humility, self-sacrifice, and endurance. View the Guys Study
Bible Basecamp: Foundations that Last
For our 6th grade students—and 7th graders who prefer to start with the basics—we’re offering a small group track called Bible Basecamp. This 6-week study is designed to give students a solid foundation in what the Bible is, how to study it, and what it means to be a follower of Jesus.
Each week, students will explore big questions like:
-
What is the Bible and why can we trust it?
-
Who is God and what is He like?
-
What does salvation really mean?
-
Why is baptism important?
-
What do we believe as Baptists, and how does that affect how we live?
Students will also learn important vocabulary and key concepts through interactive lessons, review games, and a fun competition. Each week, they’ll earn points for participating, studying, and completing challenges - working toward a chance to win a $50 gift card at the end of the series.
Bible Basecamp is a safe and welcoming space for students to ask questions, build confidence in their faith, and grow in their understanding of Scripture and the Church. It’s the perfect starting point for the journey ahead.
