PFBC Student Ministry exists to partner with parents to raise their teens to be worshipping, evangelizing, learning, and loving disciples of Jesus Christ.

What We Believe

We believe that God has commanded parents to be the primary disciplers of their children and that the church is called to partner with parents in this task. We believe that a student ministry program should be age-graded as well as family-integrated. We believe that a student ministry program should resource, train, and involve parents to equip them to raise their family for God’s glory. We believe that a student ministry program should contain the elements of worship, evangelism, discipleship, fellowship, and service.

Sunday School

Sunday school for youth is at 9:15am located in the Xchange. We meet as a large group for prayer and announcements. We then divide up into the following small groups:
  • Co-Ed Middle School: Taught by Chip Dunn, Pamela Clarkson, and Jennifer Payne
  • Co-Ed High School: Taught by Bruce Anders, Renee Anders, and Lynn Williams

Refuel (Wednesday Nights)

Refuel is our student worship that meets every Wednesday night from 6:30pm-7:30pm in the Xchange. Each session has
icebreakers and team-building games, followed by praise and worship led by our youth band. Pastor Mike then preaches the Word of God, showing our youth how it applies to their lives today. Free pizza is served at 6:00pm.

The Xchange

The PFBC Youth Center is called the “Xchange”. This great facility is located at 114 South Lewis Street Pickens, SC 29671. This space has gaming consoles, a kitchen, classrooms, a large meeting room, a movie room, and a game room.

New Youth Sunday School Series

We will be starting a new Sunday School series on March 20, 2022. The new series was written by Matt Chandler and focuses on John 1-3. Here’s the promotional video about the series: https://www.lifeway.com/en/product-family/john-1-3-bible-study?playlistVideoId=6252800647001

The following can be found at Lifeway’s website.
The Gospel of John differs from the other three gospel accounts of Jesus’ life and ministry. John focused on the nature of Christ and how belief in Him leads to true life. Through the first three chapters, we learn how we’re dependent upon God to help us believe in the name of Jesus and become His children and experience a well of abundant grace that never runs dry. To this day, Jesus continues to draw followers to Himself in the same ways He drew His first disciples. Jesus became like us so that we might become like Him. (12 sessions)

Session Topics

1. Through the Word
2. God-Given Belief
3. Grace Upon Grace
4. The Word and the Witness
5. Behold the Lamb
6. Called to Follow
7. New Wine
8. The Temple, Spiritual Consumerism, and Jesus
9. An Inadequate Faith
10. Born of the Spirit
11. A Love that Gives and Sends
12. Our Place and Message
